Donate Blood Save Life :
While the hospitals across the city continued to receive injured of road accidents and destitute patients in need of blood from all over the state, there was acute shortage of blood in the dedicated blood banks. Our brothers and sisters who become victims of road accidents, brutality of domestic and community violence, those suffering form thalasemia and other forms of anemia struggle for lives in different hospitals. They need blood and the prayers for recovery.
In view of the alarming situation in the blood banks, Sahaya spearheads the blood donation camps in the city and put it as one of its focused agenda in the annual plan. In collaboration with the Capital Market vegetable Vendors Association and other NGOs it organises blood donation camps in the city. People especially the petty vegetable vendors of Capital Market and other volunteers wholeheartedly donate blood for the victims. It is noticed that people have hearts and compassion for the needy people and the oppressed.
Bande Maa Taram, a group of social activists led by Sri Prahallad Nayak conducts awareness campaign prior to the Blood Donation camp and educate the people about the need of blood donation.
The collected blood units are stored at the Capital Hospital Red Cross Blood Bank and are consumed by the road accident victims, Thalasemia patients and other destitute patients who cannot arrange a volunteer to exchange his blood.
